Uncontested
A divorce is “uncontested” when the parties are able to agree on all issues. This is the simplest and fastest type of divorce because there is nothing in dispute.
Contested
A divorce is “contested” when the parties cannot resolve all issues in their divorce. Contested divorces typically take longer to complete than uncontested divorces because they often involve the exchange of discovery, mediation, and/or hearings.
