Divorce

Uncontested

When the parties to a divorce are able to agree on all issues, the divorce is “uncontested”. This is the simplest, fastest type of divorce because there’s nothing in dispute.

Contested

When the parties to a divorce cannot resolve all issues in their divorce, the divorce is “contested”. Contested divorces typically take longer to complete than uncontested divorces because they can involve the exchange of discovery, mediation, and/or hearings.
